And the Phillies 2019 Opening Day lineup is...
by Scott Butler 3/29/19

We got Jean Segura...and Andrew McCutchen...and J.T. Realmuto...and we got Bryce Harper.

How is Gabe Kapler going to utilize them in lineup form? Well, there actually isn't much drama there anymore. It seems like 1 through 5 is pretty much all set, with probably very little changing at the bottom, at least on days when Realmuto is behind the plate.

The only real question throughout most of Spring Training was who would leadoff, but Kapler has already said he likes McCutchen up there, so that removes most of the drama. So, here's my prediction for the Opening Day lineup card:

1. Andrew McCutchen - LF

2. Jean Segura - SS

3. Bryce Harper - RF

4. Rhys Hoskins - 1B

5. J.T. Realmuto- C

6. Odubel Herrera - CF

7. Cesar Hernandez - 2B

8. Maikel Franco - 3B

9. Aaron Nola - RHP

We can still debate the lineup construction, but we cannot debate is that the 2019 Opening Day lineup is better than last year:

1. Cesar Hernandez - 2B
2. Carlos Santana - 1B
3. Nick Williams - RF
4. Rhys Hoskins - LF
5. Aaron Altherr - CF
6. J.P. Crawford - SS
7. Maikel Franco - 3B
8. Andrew Knap - C
9. Aaron Nola - RHP

I like 2019 better already. Happy Opening Day, folks!
