Phillies team leaders and notes - 4th of July edition

Phillies 2018 Record: 54-42
1st Place in NL East, 0.5 games ahead of 2nd place Braves
5-5 in their last 10 games

After a rough finish to the first half and an even rougher start to the the second half in a game that put the Phils behind by 4 runs to the lowly Padres before even batting, the Phils went on an 11-1 run to beat the Padres and keep their spot all by themselves at the top of the NL East. An impressive comeback and an even more impressively long sentence if I do say so myself.

This week's notes:

There isn't all that much notable on the offensive side, but I get the overall feeling of blah for this offense. While the team on-base percentage ranks in the middle of the pack at #7 in the National League, there are only 3 teams worse in batting average, three teams worse in slugging, and they rank 10th in OPS.

The leader board reflects it. The leading batting average is .278? The top OPS is .816? Odubel Herrera leads the team in homers with 16? The stolen base leaders has 16 steals? I guess we can see why Machado was so enticing.

Not too much to note on the pitching side, either. Nola is as much an All-Star today as he has been all season. Much the same with the bullpen, where it's Dominguez and the rest, although we might start seeing Neshek's name once he gets enough appearances to qualify.

Here's your leader board for the first place Phils after game number 96!
