The Dodgers beat the Washington Nationals in five game in the NLDS and they could not have done it without the Phillies.
Chase Utley and Carlos Ruiz. Yeah, they kinda had some pretty big hits.
Chase Utley hit a game-winning single in Game 4. He won a belt for that.

But at least Chase is a starter and it expected to contribute. Little Carlos Ruiz - the backup catcher for a bad Phillies team for much of the season? Not so much.
Here's all Chooch did:
Hit a two-run homer as a pinch-hitter in Game 3
Entered Game 5 as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning (for Chase Utley, of course), broke a 1-1 tie with an RBI single, and scored a run in a four-run inning.
He also caught the final out of the series from "closer" Clayton Kershaw.
But it doesn't end there. Remember Joe Blanton?
Dude was 2-14 with a 6.04 ERA in 2013 with the Angels and didn't pitch at all in 2014, yet here is his line two years later in the 2016 NLDS:
4 games, 5.0 innings, 0 runs allowed.
Jayson Werth was also good again (.389, 1 HR, 3RBI, 1.188 OPS). But we hate him and he lost anyway.
Philadelphia. All we do is breed winners.
