Phillies 2016 Record: 59-70

Starting pitching has become a real problem with the 2016 Phillies. Outside of a terrific (although short for some weird reason) outing from Eickhoff, every Phillies starter has been horrible lately. In their last starts, Velasquez, Morgan, Thompson, and Hellickson allowed at least 5 runs and pitched and the only starter to go more than 5 innings was Velasquez (6 innings).

Partly due to the short outings from the starters, the bullpen has been equally as bad, which explains why they have allowed 33 runs in the four games since the last update.

The offense isn't much to brag about either, scoring just 11 runs since the last update. All told, the Phillies have been outscored 33-11 during that stretch.

Tommy Joseph took over the team lead in slugging percentage and OPS and if you think about it, Joseph has been quietly having a pretty nice season, hitting .252 with 17 homers and 34 RBI.

His numbers are not too far off from Maikel Franco, who did not have a particularly good week, with no homers, extra-base hits, or RBI in the last four games. Franco is hitting .251 with 22 homers and 72 RBI. OK numbers, but certainly not elite.
